My mother-in-law made some candied pecans (with egg whites, cinnamon & sugar), as a sweet treat for the kids, since they can't do pies or other desserts. They were really tasty!
After dinner we played a round of Pictionary, then the kids chose a movie to wrap up the night...Home Alone...an oldie, but goodie.
(Ronco Rotisserie & BBQ Oven) This pic cracks me up. Doesn't the turkey look huge? It was 11lbs...the rotisserie has a 10lb limit, but we made it work! |
It turned out perfect - so tender and juicy! |
Foods we have challenged so far: Dairy & Kiwi. Both were fails. Dairy caused tummy cramping and pain around his eye sockets the following morning. We tried it on two separate occasions - once with greek yogurt and the other time with cheddar cheese. 3 slices of kiwi caused him to wake up several times in the night and gave him tummy cramps before school the following morning. He tried 2 strawberries the day before Thanksgiving and had some cramping mid-day on Thanksgiving.
I try to stay upbeat and focus on what the kids can have, but I have to tell you, this limited diet is really getting me down. It is sometimes a claustrophobic feeling...a feeling of being boxed in against your will. It really is the pits. We'll keep on plugging along, but we would definitely love your prayers if you have some to spare...

Oh, and today marks the 2 year anniversary of Tootsie's last fit of rage, which stemmed from her food intolerance and gut imbalance! We are so very thankful to have figured out the puzzle!
